Learning, Connecting, and Advancing Accessibility at the Oxford Deaf Festival 2025

Last week, we attended the Oxford Deaf Festival 2025, a vibrant celebration of Deaf culture, community, and innovation.

Through workshops, talks, and an AI panel on technology and accessibility, the festival offered valuable insights into how the Deaf community is shaping inclusive practices for the future. It was inspiring to see how innovation and leadership come together to create more accessible experiences for all.

We were delighted to connect with Deaf community leaders and organisers, discussing how our services – BSL interpreting (on-site and remote), lipspeakers, and Deaf awareness training – support organisations in delivering truly inclusive experiences. These conversations reinforced the importance of collaboration and listening to the community to drive meaningful change.

The festival also provided an excellent opportunity to listen, learn, and exchange ideas on embedding BSL and accessibility into everyday practice. It was a reminder that inclusion is not just a policy, but an ongoing practice that requires awareness, commitment, and thoughtful action.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Action Deafness for hosting, and to all contributors who made the event a success. Most importantly, the experience reinforced our commitment to Deaf leadership and to supporting councils, universities, and public services in delivering experiences that are accessible, respectful, and effective.

We are always eager to connect with organisations that share our commitment to accessibility and Deaf inclusion. Together, we can continue building a future that is inclusive, empowering, and respectful for all.
